A Unique Adventure Through the Albanian Alps

Our Jezerca Mountain Hiking & Camping Tour takes you on a journey through some of the most scenic landscapes in Albania. As you trek along rugged trails, you’ll encounter dense forests, alpine meadows, and glacial lakes that make this region a paradise for hikers and campers alike. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or an adventure seeker looking for a new challenge, this tour caters to all levels of experience.

Starting Point: Tirana – 05:00 AM

We begin our journey from Tirana, traveling by vehicle along an itinerary that allows us to visit several other tourist destinations, such as the Buna River near the city of Shkodër. We then pass through Leqet e Hotit and continue to Tamara, where we take a short 30-minute break for breakfast and coffee.

We continue our journey along the Cemi River, which will accompany us until we reach the area near Lepushë, another natural gem nestled among the Albanian Alps. We then proceed towards Vermosh and cross into the neighboring country, Montenegro. From there, it’s only a 20-minute drive until we reach the outskirts of the village of Vusanje, where we park our vehicles.

The total travel time by vehicle from Tirana to Vusanje is approximately 4-5 hours, depending on traffic.

Hiking Begins – 10:00 AM

After a short rest, we start our hike towards the Jezerces Lakes (Buni Jezerces), located at 1800m above sea level. The hiking journey takes around 4 hours, including short breaks, depending on the physical condition of the group.

We reach the lakes at approximately 2:00 PM. Upon arrival, we have time to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lakes and surrounding Alps, reflecting the blue sky in their crystal-clear waters.

Activities at the Lakes:

• Selecting a camping spot and setting up the camp
• Swimming in the crystal-clear waters
• Preparing firewood for cooking and keeping warm at night
• Free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings

Next Morning:

• Wake-up time: 6:00 AM
• Breakfast: 6:00 AM – 6:30 AM
• Packing up the campsite and organizing gear: 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM
• Start of the hike towards Maja e Jezerces (2,694m): 7:10 AM

The ascent to the summit follows strict safety measures and takes around 4 hours, including frequent rest breaks.

• Arrival at the summit: 11:30 AM
• Time spent at the peak: ~1 hour, to admire the stunning views
• Descent back to the Jezerces Lakes: 2-3 hours

After another 30-minute rest at the lakes, we continue hiking back to the vehicle parking area.

• Arrival at the vehicles: Around 5:00-6:00 PM
• Return to Tirana: Departing from Vusanje, leaving behind an unforgettable experience
• Arrival in Tirana: Approximately 10:30-11:00 PM
